‘Paint for a Purpose’ in Indianapolis

The Lupus Foundation of America, Indiana Chapter is happy to partner with the Indiana Minority Health Coalition; Lupus Education and Awareness Program (LEAP); Office of Minority Health and Office of Women’s Health, Indiana State Department of Health to offer a fun and interactive painting activity and lupus educational presentation for people with lupus and their family members/caregivers. This Lupus 101 presentation is targeted for people recently diagnosed with lupus; however, all people with lupus are welcome.

The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at Indiana Minority Health Coalition, 3737 N. Meridian St., Suite 300, Indianapolis.

1 to 1:30 p.m. – Social gathering with snacks for people with lupus and family members/caregivers to get to know each other; LFA, Indiana Chapter staff and board members; representatives from Indiana Minority Health Coalition; Office of Minority Health and Office of Women’s Health, Indiana State Department of Health.

1:30 to 3 p.m. – Instructor-led, fun canvas painting activity

3 to 4 p.m. – Lupus 101 presentation that includes the following will be offered:

  • Basic overview of lupus
  • Diagnosis and treatment
  • Managing symptoms
  • Local resources available through LFA, Indiana Chapter

Space is limited to 30 attendees (minimum age of 13 years old). Visit lupusindiana.org to register. A $10 per person registration charge will be refunded at event check-in. Registration is required by Friday, March 23.
