Fishers Arts Council (FAC) and Conner Prairie have selected more than 40 artists and five musical groups that will be part of the inaugural Art on the Prairie Art & Music Fair to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22 at Conner Prairie.
The five musical groups are Mudsock Jazz Combo, One Voice, The Indiana Folk Music Society, Crossing Bridges, and The Klezmets.
“For the first year, we thought we would select American folk music that reflects the museum and standards from the American Song Book,” said FAC President Tom Rich.
“We are so excited to have so much depth and breadth of artistic talent,” said FAC Executive Director Les Reinhardt. “We have potters and jewelry makers; glass blowers and stained glass; all types of painters including oil, Watercolor, acrylic, alcohol ink. We have leatherworks and woodworkers. I think the public will be excited by what they can find and purchase during the fair.”
“We are hoping everyone comes out to support their local artists and artisans in Fishers and the surrounding area,” said Rich. “This is the perfect time to see what the local arts scene is about and to support the creativity of our community.”
