OneZone Chamber creates PAC to support local, county, state offices

OneZone Chamber has announced the creation of its political action committee (PAC), OneZone BAC. The OneZone Business Action Committee will support candidates for local, county and state offices. The committee is made up of local business leaders who are members of OneZone Chamber.

OneZone began its state advocacy efforts back in 2019 when it hired Caryl Auslander of Torchbearer Public Affairs. Since that time, the Chamber has supported policy topics such as regional development initiatives, statewide bias crimes protections, increasing the cigarette tax, protecting mass transit, employer liability protections, workshare, updating alcohol laws and others.

In addition to its state work, the Chamber has been an advocate at the local level on a variety of initiatives and economic development projects in the Carmel, Fishers and throughout Hamilton County.

“As we continue to strengthen our advocacy efforts, we believe that with the creation of OneZone BAC it will add another layer to our work on being a voice for business,” said OneZone Chamber President Jack Russell.

The PAC will begin to contribute to elections this year in the 2022 primary and general elections. “We look forward to contributing to the candidates that we think will most support our thriving business communities,” said Séamus Boyce of KGR Law & Public Policy, LLC.

The PAC will be managed by Caryl Auslander of Torchbearer Public Affairs, OneZone’s state lobbyist.

“The business voice is a strong and important voice in the state,” Auslander said. “The creation and utilization of this PAC only strengthens our voice and work at the local and state level.”
