Noblesville’s Rachel Read reigns as your 4-H Fair Queen
The 60th Hamilton County 4-H Queen Pageant was a bit different than any that had come before. Host Adam Goode called it an “unusual year” as social distancing protocols prevented the public from attending the event.
On Friday afternoon, judges interviewed each contestant individually. By the end of the night, they named 19-year-old Rachel Read of Noblesville (Giddy Up Gang) as your 2020 Hamilton County 4-H Queen. Rachel is the daughter of Ryan and Jennifer Read. She has completed 37 projects during her time in 4-H. She is a sophomore at Butler University.
First Runner-up is 17-year-old Laura Vaughan of Noblesville (Lucky Robots). Laura is the daughter of George and Lisa Vaughan. She has completed 119 projects during her time with 4-H. Laura is a homeschooled senior.
Second Runner-up is 17-year-old Anneliese Jessee of Noblesville (Heartland 4-H’ers). Anneliese is the daughter of Anthony and Kimberly Jessee. She has completed 45 projects during her time with 4-H. Anneliese is a senior at Noblesville High School.
Third Runner-up is 18-year-old Caitlin Hartwick of Cicero (Husky 4-H’ers). Caitlin is the daughter of Chad and Cheri Hartwick. She has completed 44 projects during her time with 4-H. Caitlin is a freshman at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Fourth Runner-up is 16-year-old Delaney Howard of Noblesville (Stringtown Pikers). Delaney is the daughter of Brad and Pam Howard. She has completed 22 projects during her time with 4-H. Delaney is a junior at Noblesville High School.
The award of Miss Congeniality is voted on by the queen pageant contestants, rather than the judges.
Miss Congeniality is 17-year-old Alexandra Matthews of Noblesville (Llama Trekkers). Alexandra is the daughter of Rick and Stacy Matthews. She has completed 40 projects during her time with 4-H. Alexandra is a senior at Hamilton Heights High School. She was given the award because she is known for being friendly, helpful, cheerful and enthusiastic.
