Most prestigious industry award for outdoor living retailers
The International Casual Furnishings Association (ICFA) has announced the 2023 Apollo Award finalists, and the list includes long-time local retailer O’Malia’s Living in Carmel.
The most prestigious in the industry, the Apollo Awards have been presented for more than 60 years during the ICFA Awards Gala. Members nominate retailers in the single- and multi-store categories based upon innovative merchandising and marketing, sales management, annual growth, sales training program, credit history, and achievement of goals.
O’Malia’s Living joins five other national retailers in the single-store category to be nominated, including Island Living & Patio of West Palm Beach, Fla., Outdoor Elegance of LaVerne, Calif., Patio’s Plus of Rancho Mirage, Calif., Villa Terrazza of Sonoma, Calif., and Village Green Home and Garden of Rockford, Ill. The winner will be announced on July 11 at AmericasMart in Atlanta, Ga.

Earlier this year, O’Malia’s Living was awarded the 2023 Mary Fruehauf Retail Genius Award for innovative retail merchandising and was showcased as an industry best practice at the ICFA Education Conference held in February in Nashville, Tenn.
“We are honored to have been selected. There are many excellent stores and to be part of this group of established retailers is very special,” O’Malia’s Living Owner Scott Horvath said.
Established in 1966 as O’Malia’s Fireplace Shop, this retailer has grown to include grills, outdoor fire and patio furniture. In 2015, the name was changed to O’Malia’s Living to reflect the variety of products.
The International Casual Furnishings Association, based in High Point, N.C., represents manufacturers, retailers, sales representatives, and designers of outdoor furnishings plus suppliers to the industry.
O’Malia’s Living, based in Carmel, is a 57-year-old retailer of high-quality specialty fireplaces, grills and patio furniture with installation and service of fireplaces and outdoor spaces.
