According to staff at the Hamilton North Public Library, it wouldn’t be summer without a reading program, so HNPL invites the community to participate in its entirely digital Summer Reading Challenge – Imagine Your Story. Through the online/mobile platform, Beanstack, you easily track minutes and titles read to earn badges and eligibility for prizes.
Get started, participate
- Sign up. To track reading on a phone, download the Beanstack Tracker App from the iTunes Store or the Google Play Store. Computer users can register at beanstack.org.
- Log reading. Track hours and minutes for each day’s reading and log as directed. The program automatically rewards users with digital reading badges and tickets toward prizes.
- To be eligible for prizes, adults must have a current HNPL card. Children and young adults may use either their own card or a parent’s. Tickets for prize drawings must be entered digitally by July 15.
- Challenge for adults or young adults (12-17). Complete 24 hours reading. Earn 26 drawing tickets: one for registering; one for each hour logged (up to 24 hours); one additional ticket upon completion of the Imagine Your Story Challenge.
- Challenge for children (0-11). Finish 16 hours of reading. Earn 18 drawing tickets: one for registering; one for each hour logged (up to 16 hours); one additional ticket upon finishing the Imagine Your Story Challenge.
Tips & Trivia
- The program is digital, but the library is open with new, temporary hours.
- Acceptable reading material includes books, ebooks, and audiobooks.
- Beanstack limits reading time logging to 10 hours per day.
- All summer reading prizes are drawn tickets, determined at the end of the program.
