Noblesville’s Three Dog Bakery celebrating rescue pups with DOGust

Three Dog Bakery, 13904 Town Center Blvd., Noblesville, is helping rescue pup owners celebrate their furry family members and support area rescues and shelters with its annual DOGust offerings.

DOGust 1 (or Aug. 1) is nationally recognized as the unofficial birthday celebration for all shelter dogs whose birthdays are unknown. Three Dog Bakery invites dog owners to support area rescues and shelters through the sale of a special bandana offered throughout the month and celebrate their rescue dogs by purchasing the bakery’s ever-popular dog-friendly birthday cakes.

Established by the North Shore Animal League America in 2008, DOGust has expanded over the years with shelters, pet owners and animal lovers celebrating rescue pups and bringing more awareness to rescue adoptions. Three Dog Bakery will donate proceeds from sales of a specialty bandana available throughout August to rescues and shelters in the communities it serves. They will also donate a large celebration bone cake to their local rescue for a small birthday party.

“Last year, our customers helped raise nearly $16,000 for their local rescues and shelters by purchasing our DOGust bandana,” Three Dog Bakery Marketing Director Ally Homa said. “We’re excited to make this DOGust an incredible birthday celebration for the dogs who have been fortunate to find their forever homes and those being graciously cared for at the rescues and shelters in their communities.”

In addition to the sale of the bandanas, dog bone cakes and five-inch and seven-inch round cakes are available for pup parents to purchase. The cakes, which can be personalized, come in a variety of colors. Customers can also request grain-free birthday cakes for their best friends. They also carry accessories, toys, party hats and more to round out their celebration offerings.
