The City of Noblesville will begin 10th Street resurfacing work on Monday, June 24. The roadway will be milled and repaved from Greenfield Avenue to Field Drive – a total of 1.5 miles. It is expected to take three weeks, weather permitting.
Resurfacing work will be split into two sections – north and south of State Road 32 (Conner Street). During construction, signs will notify motorists that parking on the road will not be permitted. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control, but 10th Street will remain open throughout construction.
Resurfacing the road now ensures that the project will be complete before Noblesville Schools opens on Aug. 1.
This portion of work is part of the city’s ongoing plan to improve the north-south corridor of 10th Street. Sidewalk and ADA ramp work was completed last month. The city also utilized local funds to construct the roundabout at the Greenfield Avenue intersection with 10th Street in 2017 and resurfaced 10th Street north of Field Drive in 2016.
This project is part of Indiana Department of Transportation’s Next Level Roads: Community Crossings Initiative. The 10th Street project will cost the city $308,526 for its 50 percent match with INDOT. Noblesville received three grants this year totaling $920,715. Work has been completed on the other two projects: Resurfacing a portion of Mill Grove subdivision and Hazel Dell Road from Noble Crossing Drive to State Road 32.
