Ten students from Noblesville Schools were recognized on April 28 at Noblesville Youth Assistance’s (NYAP) Shining Star Event, held at the Noblesville Schools Community Center.

Since 2015, NYAP has held the annual Shining Star Awards Dinner to recognize Noblesville youth. These students are celebrated and honored for exhibiting extraordinary growth in the classroom or displaying resilience in the midst of challenging circumstances.

One student from each school is nominated by teachers, counselors, principals, or other school staff members. Nominees can be from any grade and do not have to be a part of NYAP to be recognized.

At the event, NYAP Board President Jeff Armstrong and NYAP Board Member Todd Thurston offered opening remarks. Then, attendees heard from each of the nominators about why their student was selected as a 2025 Shining Star. After a brief presentation about the accomplishments of each Shining Star, the nominees were given their awards by NYAP Advocates, Brandy Egan and Michelle Schmidt.

“It was such a joy to celebrate these amazing students,” said Julie Thacker, Noblesville Schools executive director of student services. “Each of them has overcome challenges and grown in such inspiring ways. We’re thankful for our strong partnership with NYAP and appreciate them making this special recognition happen for our students.”

Additionally, NYAP staff and board members had the honor of hosting a separate event for the High School Shining Star. This took place at the school where the student was surrounded by the school staff who have supported her on her way to achieving this honor.

The students honored were:

  • Leilani Broadway: Stony Creek Elementary
  • Korbin Hadley: North Elementary
  • Daniel Vargas: Noble Crossing Elementary
  • Codie Warren: Hinkle Creek Elementary
  • Jaydin Buchanan: White River Elementary
  • Shawn Alcala: Promise Road Elementary
  • Seamus O’ Marrah: Hazel Dell Elementary
  • Zion Foltz: Noblesville East Middle School
  • Ayden Fisher: Noblesville West Middle School
  • Tahara Gibson: Noblesville High School

A big thank you to sponsors Gaylor Electric for providing and cooking all the delicious food and the Go & Do Foundation for funding the event and helping make it all possible.
