The Noblesville boys golf team ran away with the trophy at the Twin Lakes Invitational, which took place Saturday at Tippecanoe Country Club.
The Millers carded a team score of 304, well ahead of runner-up Peru’s 318. Noblesville also had the meet medalist, as junior Clay Merchent carded a six-under par 66 – six shots ahead of second place.
Jack Barnes was next in line for the Millers with a 77, followed by Jacob Deakyne 80, Kyle Claussen 81 and Joe Whallon 81.
Westfield bounced back from a struggle on Tuesday to win the 16-team Warsaw Tiger Invitational at Stonehenge Golf Club.
The Shamrocks scored 297, easily ahead of runner-up Zionsville’s 307 and Penn’s 308. Senior Andrew Lewis was the individual medalist with a score of 68 in challenging conditions. This was the second year in a row for Lewis to win medalist honors.
Junior Ethan Lutz tied for third with a 73, while sophomore Drake Biggs placed fifth with a 75. Stephen Hildebrand scored 81 and Ryan Wilkes carded 89.
Carmel finished second out of 10 teams at the Hickory Stick tournament on Saturday.
The Greyhounds carded a two-over par 286, just behind Center Grove’s one-over 285. Nick Dentino led Carmel with a two-under 69, while Curtis Robertson shot an even 71. Other Greyhound scores were Clay Stirsman 72, Cole Harris 74 and Andrew Harvey 78.
