The Noblesville boys soccer team opened its season last Saturday with a 2-0 win at Columbus North.
The three-time defending state champion Millers scored both of their goals in the second half. The first goal came in the 48th minute: Caden Rice made a kick into the goal; it was initially saved, but the power of the kick caused the Bull Dogs’ goalkeeper to deflect the ball off the crossbar and into the goal. Noblesville scored its second goal during the 72nd minute, as Anthony Fuentes sent the ball to Brady Frayer, who sent a kick into the upper 90 for the score.
Junior Alex Eberhart made four saves.
The Millers play their first home game Tuesday against Perry Meridian. This weekend, the Noblesville hosts a showcase featuring several top teams. The Millers take on Cincinnati St. Xavier Friday night, then play Okemos (Mich.) Saturday afternoon.

Hamilton Southeastern traveled to Mount Vernon for its season opener and came home with a 3-1 victory.
The Royals’ Dillon O’Rourke scored the first goal during the 10th minute, with Jack Anderson providing the assist. That would be the only goal of the first half. The Marauders tied the game early in the second half, but Southeastern answered with two goals. Cooper Perez put in the go-ahead score off an assist by Alex Orris; then O’Rourke scored again with Gavin Boyle making the assist.
The Royals play their home opener Tuesday against Cathedral, then travel to Guerin Catholic on Saturday.

Carmel beat Zionsville 1-0 at Murray Stadium to begin its season.
Junior Troy Enslin scored the Greyhounds’ goal, with senior Eli Roberts making the assist. Sophomore Aidan Gostomelsky had three saves.
The Greyhounds play Monday at Pike.

Fishers also got a season-opening victory, beating Franklin Central 2-0 in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
Senior Reid Spittler and junior Jack Butts both scored one goal each for the Tigers.
Fishers plays another HCC game Tuesday at Westfield, then travels to the Noblesville showcase this weekend. The Tigers take on Detroit Catholic on Friday and Cincinnati Moeller on Saturday.
