Noblesville Schools has announced its spring Parent Power education sessions. The four sessions will take place during March and April and cover the following topics:
- Latest trends in vaping
- Tough talks with teens (including a teen panel)
- Building grit/growth mindset in your elementary child
- A personal account of the consequences of distracted driving
Teen Vaping
Learn from Hamilton County’s Health Department Education Specialist on dangerous trends that many teenagers are engaging in and the associated risks. Parents and students are welcome. The session will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on March 4 at Noblesville West Middle School, 19900 Hague Road.
Tough Talks with Teens
Learn how to engage in difficult conversations with your teen and navigate tough topics such as vaping, drug use, suicide and anxiety. You’ll hear from professionals as well as a panel of Noblesville High School students. The session will take place from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. on March 5 at Forest Park Inn, 701 Cicero Road, Noblesville.
Grit & Growth Mindset
Pushing through difficulty and even failing sometimes is linked to success in life. How can you help your elementary child grow from challenging experiences rather than become frustrated and less confident? Come hear a practical introduction to the role you place in cultivating these strengths. The first session will take place from 6:45 to 8 p.m. on March 9 at the Noblesville Schools Educational Services Center, 18025 River Road. The second session will take place from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. on March 13 at Forest Park Inn, 701 Cicero Road.
Distracted Driving Danger
Local couple Tina and Lorin Smith will share how a distracted driver took their legs, but not their spirits, as they emphasize the dangerous consequences that can come from distracted driving. This session will take place at 6:30 p.m. on April 16 at Noblesville High School, 18111 Cumberland Road.
