Noblesville reconstructs alley using bricks from city’s first paved streets

On Friday, the city of Noblesville unveiled the renovated alley between 9th and 10th streets north of Maple Avenue. It is one of the last brick alleys and has bricks from the first paved streets in Noblesville around 1892. Thank you to Noblesville Preservation Alliance, Councilor Aaron Smith and the Noblesville Common Council for recognizing the value of preserving this last important vestige of the city’s past. The alley is now safe and functional after being lovingly restored to maintain the authentic downtown. The alley before renovation (left) and after (right).
