Noblesville pays tribute to Mayor John Ditslear

On Wednesday, members of the community recognized Noblesville’s longest serving mayor, John Ditslear.

The tribute honoring Ditslear, and his 16 years serving as Noblesville’s mayor, was held at the Embassy Suites Conference Center and was sponsored by the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce.

During the event, Noblesville City Court Judge Matt Cook described Ditslear as a good role model and someone who cares about his community. “There is one word when I think of John, and that is loyal.”

Cook also commended Ditslear on his ability to lead Noblesville through a time of unprecedented growth and prosperity.

Former Indiana State Representative, now Hamilton County Clerk, Kathy Williams recanted how Ditslear stepped into the role of mayor as a businessman during a time when Noblesville needed that.

“Noblesville and Hamilton County are better places because of John Ditslear,” said Hamilton County Commissioner Mark Heirbrandt.

Mayor Ditslear closed the event by saying, “It has been a great run and we are going to keep on running till Dec. 31.”

When describing what the future may hold, Ditslear said, “I’m looking forward to serving someone, somewhere in Noblesville, certainly in the county.”
