Noblesville Parks partners with Indianapolis Oasis for active adults programming

Noblesville Parks & Recreation and Indianapolis Oasis have formed a new partnership to expand programming and activities for adults ages 50 and older. The new partnership provides programs, classes and workshops for adults wanting to continue to be active in the community, learn a new skill or expand their knowledge on a particular topic.

“Partnering with Oasis gives us the opportunity to expand our classes and offerings for active adults. Oasis is a great organization and we know the programs and classes they’ll bring to Noblesville will benefit many members of our community and Hamilton County,” said Noblesville Parks’ Recreation Director Nichole Haberlin-Medaris.

Oasis Noblesville classes will start in October at Ivy Tech Community College, 300 N. 17th St., Noblesville. Classes include a variety of topics and subjects such as wellness, finance, art and music, and other activities specifically for those 50 and older. Many of the classes are free to attend and others include an enrollment fee. To see the complete class listings or to register, visit OasisIndy.org or call 317-396-3751.

“Oasis is excited for the opportunity to partner with Noblesville Parks and Recreation and to be a part of the Noblesville community,” said Oasis Executive Director Mary Dorney. “We look forward to meeting many residents and community members at the upcoming Taste of Oasis. While our educational programming is focused on adults 50+, persons of all ages are welcome to come out and learn more about Oasis. Our programs engage more than the 50 and better, they impact the entire community.”

The partnership kicks off with a free Open House from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Ivy Tech Community College. The public is invited to experience “A Taste of Oasis” to learn more about the new programs offered in Noblesville and meet the instructors and volunteers. Attendees also will receive free hearing screenings, learn from featured guests and enjoy light refreshments. The event is free but attendees are asked to preregister using Class No. 1125.
