The City of Noblesville will begin and complete its final Community Crossing grant project later this week as Mercantile Boulevard will be resurfaced – weather permitting. The roadway runs parallel to State Road 37 and is located between the numerous restaurants and business that face 37 and the larger businesses to the east like Meijer, Lowe’s and Best Buy.
Construction work will begin in the evening and start at the south end where the road comes to a “T” with Cumberland Road so it causes the least disruption to businesses and motorists. Flaggers will be onsite to assist any motorists. The tentative schedule for construction includes:
- Wednesday, May 10 – Begin milling at 4 p.m. with work completing at 8 a.m. Thursday.
- Thursday, May 11 – Begin paving at 7 p.m. with work completing at 6 a.m. Friday.
- Friday, May 12 – Begin final paving work at 7 p.m. and have the project completed by 6 a.m. Saturday.
The project scope is Mercantile Boulevard between Cumberland Road and Pleasant Street. Its estimated cost is $214,000 for 0.7 miles including a roundabout at Town & Country Boulevard. This project was part of the city’s 50/50 matching Community Crossing grant it received last fall.
