Noblesville Main Street Farmers Market opens next Saturday

Trolley service is new this year . . .

The annual Noblesville Farmers Market, organized by Noblesville Main Street (NMS), opens Saturday, May 4. The Farmers Market will run from 8 a.m. to noon for 24 consecutive weeks ending on Oct. 12, 2019. This year’s market will take place at Federal Hill Commons, 175 Logan St.

New to the market this year is a trolley service. Premier Trolley Co. is local and family owned. You may have seen the historic black and red trolley around town before, but now you will be able to ride the trolley from the market to downtown Noblesville and back. It is only $2 to ride the trolley, and children under 3 are free.

“I am super excited about offering this amenity this year,” said NMS Executive Director Lorna Steele. “It will really activate our downtown and it relieves a bit of the parking issues. You can park downtown for free, eat breakfast, hop on the trolley and explore the market or vice versa!”

You can find the trolley map, route and stops, at noblesvillemainstreet.org and on Facebook.

“Federal Hill Commons is an urban park meant to be enjoyed by all and accessible via car, bike or on foot,” said Noblesville Parks and Recreation Director Brandon Bennett. “We are happy to showcase new features to enhance the market experience including a playground on-site along with dedicated seating, restroom facilities and more. We look forward to what our partnership with Noblesville Main Street will offer our community in collaborative events and festivals.”

This market is the oldest and largest in Hamilton County with more than 90 vendors offering farm-fresh homegrown fruits, vegetables, meats, plants, herbs, flowers, honey, spices, wine, jams, jellies and salsas. Locally handmade items include baked goods, soaps, jewelry, artwork, quality crafts and pet products. The popular food court offers breakfast and lunch choices, as well as takeout items and snack food for those on the go. But if you want to move at a slower pace, tables are provided for patrons to sit and visit while listening to live performers.

In keeping with a tradition of the market started several years ago, the first Saturday of every month from May to October will feature a free yoga class by Shine Yoga and the Noblesville Schools Bookmobile, which is a free summer book lending program for kids. Noblesville Main Street has also planned special event days as part of the market such as Kids Day on Aug. 10. Stay tuned for more themed days to come.

Join your neighbors and friends on May 4 for the opening day at the Noblesville Main Street Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to noon.
