The Noblesville Millers junior varsity Black team beat Westfield’s junior varsity Green team 12-11 on Friday.
The game was tied at 9-9 going into the seventh inning. Noblesville’s Alex Hewitt hit a single to score Camden Nagel, then was sent home on a double by Alec Rees. Rees later scored when Cameron Leming hit a sacrifice fly.
The Shamrocks got within 12-11 in the bottom of the seventh, when Parker Bard’s single scored Andy Manzur and Nick Klein later scored. But Graham Vetter got the final out on a strikeout.
Nagel, Hewitt and David Wisler all had two hits, with Wisler batting in three runs. Hewitt and Leming both drove in two runs. All four Noblesville players scored two runs as well, as did Jackson Hancock.
Vetter pitched three innings for the win. Nagel had four strikeouts in four innings, with Vetter striking out three.
For Westfield, Bard and Manzur both had three hits; Bard hit a triple and a double while batting in four runs. Bard also scored three runs and Manzur scored two. Mason Cox had two RBIs.
