Noblesville Ice Plaza looking for seasonal workers

The Federal Hill Commons Ice Plaza will return for its third season to offer residents a winter outdoor recreational activity. The Noblesville Parks Department is looking for seasonal workers to make the temporary ice rink a success. The city is looking to hire a site coordinator and multiple rink monitors.

“We are hoping to find several residents who would be excited to work at one of Noblesville’s newest holiday traditions and a fun atmosphere,” Parks Director Brandon Bennett said. “We encourage anyone interested in working around the holidays to apply.”

The Ice Plaza site coordinator will oversee, supervise and coordinate ice plaza personnel, including the scheduling of staff. Pay ranges from $13.07 to $14.52 per hour. This position is active from Nov. 1 through Jan. 10, 2020.

Rink monitors will assist in running the Ice Plaza (setting up and locking the facility) and will provide a high level of customer service to all renters, participants and visitors. Older high school students may apply. Pay ranges from $10 to $12 per hour and is active from Nov. 11 through Jan. 10, 2020.

Each position assists in maintaining the ice rink (applying water, shoveling, scraping and lifting shaved ice/snow), inspects the general condition of facilities and equipment to help ensure participant’s safety, and collects daily ice plaza fees and keeps accurate records. Federal Hill Commons was designed to be a year-round park, and the winter activities both there and across downtown drive more residents to the heart of Noblesville during the holiday season. The Ice Plaza welcomes all ages to participate and rental ice skates range from kid to adult sizes. More information about the Ice Plaza will be announced shortly.
