The Noblesville girls basketball team had a nice Wednesday in Greensburg, as the Millers won the Greensburg Tournament with two easy victories.
Noblesville began the day with a 70-55 victory over New Palestine in the first round. The Millers led 18-9 after the first quarter and 34-20 by halftime. Noblesville then poured in 27 points in the third period, including 11 from Ashlynn Shade. That gave the Millers a 61-38 lead at the end of three.
Shade finished the game with 27 points and eight rebounds, also making five steals. Reagan Wilson added 11 points and Brooklyn Smitherman scored 10. Dani Mendez collected six rebounds.
In the championship game, Noblesville took care of host Greensburg 60-37. The Millers were up 12-10 after the first quarter, then dominated the second and third periods, leading 30-16 at halftime. A 24-7 third-quarter performance gave Noblesville a 54-23 lead.
Jayla Jones led the Millers with 17 points, including three 3-poiners. Shade earned a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, also handing out seven assists and making four steals. Kaitlyn Shoemaker had 10 points, Mendez pulled five rebounds and Emily Wood had two blocked shots.
Noblesville is 11-3 and plays Saturday at Martinsville.
