The Noblesville Fraternal Order of Police and the Noblesville Police Auxiliary announce the second annual “Run With The Cops” 5K Fun Run on Saturday, May 18 at Forest Park in Noblesville, which will take place as the final celebration for National Police Week.

National Police Week is held annually the second full week of May. This year it begins on Sunday, May 12 and ends on Saturday, May 18. Each year our nation loses between 140 and 160 law enforcement officers in the line of duty. The Noblesville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 198 and the Noblesville Police Auxiliary are joining together to honor the men and women who currently serve the Noblesville Police Department.

Participants will run or walk along a 5K course on scenic Noblesville’s Forest Park trails, featuring appearances by Noblesville’s first responders and K9 officers. The course will begin outside of Shelter 5 at Forest Park and travel through the trails encompassing the park. The race will finish inside Forest Park and is family friendly to celebrate the #NoblesvilleStrong community. This is a great way to spend time with your friends and children to help support programs provided by the Noblesville FOP, such as Shop with a Cop and the Noblesville High School Police Explorers Post.

The 5K, an officially timed event, will begin at 8:30 a.m. with packet pick-up starting at 7 a.m. at Shelter 5 in Forest Park. Along with the 5K, participants and families will have the opportunity to “Race a K9” in a 100-yard dash where they will strive to beat Noblesville’s fastest four-legged officers. All finishers will receive a commemorative Run with the Cops medal and T-shirt.

Sign up by Wednesday, May 1 and receive a discounted price of $29 for the 5K. Registration and event information is available at bit.ly/2IKTNrp.

“The Noblesville FOP Lodge 198 is proud to highlight the members of our Noblesville Police Department and activate our community members in support of National Police Week.  We look forward to a great event,” said Noblesville FOP Lodge 198 President Sgt. Jamie Aloisio.
