The First United Methodist Church of Noblesville invites the community to attend the Pipe Organ Dedication Recital at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 19 in the sanctuary of the church, located at 2051 Monument St.
The guest artist for the recital is Martin Ellis, who served as Organist and Associate Director of Music at North United Methodist Church and at Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis before relocating to Portland, Ore.
Mr. Ellis will play a variety of musical selections that will demonstrate the many colors and voices of the new organ. In honor of this historic moment, he composed a new choral setting of the hymn “O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing,” and the church’s Chancel Choir will perform this new work as part of the dedication recital.
The new pipe organ was designed and built by Reynolds Associates of Marion, Ind., and the church is pleased to share this glorious new instrument with the community.
A reception will follow the recital.
