Shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday, the Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) responded to a residence fire at 20322 Little Creek Drive.

The first units on scene were met by light smoke and high heat conditions. Crews were able to make an aggressive interior attack and quickly extinguish the fire. The homeowner was able to escape the home and call 911 after seeing smoke and fire in the entryway. Most of the damage was limited to the common living space, in part because many of the bedroom doors were closed. NFD was assisted by the Noblesville Police Department and Westfield Fire Department.

NFD would like to take this opportunity to remind residents to sleep with their bedroom doors closed. The closed door can help create a safe, breathable space in the event of a fire.
