Noblesville Fire Department promotes two new officers

The Noblesville Fire Department is pleased to announce the promotions of two new officers this week. Family members and NFD staff gathered at the new officers’ stations to recognize the promotions of Josh Brumbaugh and Jim Butts.

Brumbaugh, an 11-year veteran of the Noblesville Fire Department, was promoted to the rank of Captain. Capt. Brumbaugh graduated from IUPUI in 2001 with a double major in accounting and finance. He received his master of professional accountancy one year later. Capt. Brumbaugh was hired in 2007 and has steadily risen through the ranks, first as an engineer, then a lieutenant and now to station Captain.

Butts, a 13-year veteran of the Noblesville Fire Department, was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Lt. Butts was hired as a firefighter and EMT in 2006. He is an Army veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and also has 16 years of service in the Indiana Army National Guard. In 2009, Lt. Butts earned a unit citation for his work following a 20-car accident on Interstate 69.

“As the Chief of the Noblesville Fire Department, it gives me great pleasure to be able to promote our people,” said Chief Greg Wyant. “Lieutenant Butts and Captain Brumbaugh have pushed themselves hard from their very first day on the job and it is very exciting to see their hard work pay off. The men and women of NFD working under these men will be in great hands.”
