The Noblesville Parks and Recreation Department is currently making plans for its annual Family Halloween Party, which include a few new twists this year. The free event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 at its new location, Federal Hill Commons, 175 W. Logan St.
Area businesses are invited to participate in the Trick-or-Treat Village with a Halloween-decorated booth and a game or activity for children ages three and up. Businesses are able to participate for free, but must register by emailing amink@noblesville.in.us or calling 317-770-5750.
“Participating is a great way for your office to show off your Halloween spirit and help provide a safe and fun trick-or-treat opportunity for residents,” said Recreation Program Coordinator Amber Mink.
The costume contest also is getting an update this year with an online photo competition. Categories include Most Creative, Cutest, Scariest and Family. Those interested in entering the photo contest must submit their entries electronically by noon on Monday, Oct. 22. Photo contest entries may be submitted via email to amink@noblesville.in.us or by sending a direct message to the Noblesville Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
Public voting will run from 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23 through noon on Friday, Oct. 26 on the Noblesville Parks & Recreation Facebook page. The photos with the most “likes” will be awarded and announced at the Halloween party. Winners must be present to win.
“With a new location and home for the costume contest, parks and recreation staff is confident this Halloween party will be better than ever,” said Mink. “We are excited to bring the event to Federal Hill Commons, where we will have more space for an extended Trick-or-Treat Village, which allows more businesses to join in on the Halloween fun. We also can’t wait to see all of the costume contest pictures submitted and the amazing outfits.”
The annual Family Halloween Party is sponsored by Tenth Street Photography and the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs.
The official trick-or-treat hours in the City of Noblesville will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The Noblesville Police Department will have extra patrols out that evening to provide additional security.
