The Federal Hill Commons Ice Plaza will extend operating hours for further enjoyment during winter break. Starting Wednesday, Dec. 26, the Ice Plaza will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Monday, Jan. 7, 2019.
“The outdoor recreational activity has welcomed nearly 2,000 skaters this season and we continue to look at ways to make the ice skating experience even better – including the addition of the Christmas Cottage with Santa from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoons,” Parks Director Brandon Bennett said.
The city also has partnered with Koteewi Run Seasonal Slopes and Three-Two-Fun!! & Bowl 32 to offer reciprocal promotions. When Ice Plaza patrons show their receipt from either business, they will receive the $10 ice rink admission. In return, when ice rink patrons show their wristband from a paid rink admission, they will receive a free round of mini golf (nine holes) at Three-Two-Fun!! & Bowl 32 through Jan. 7 and receive $4 off general admission at Koteewi Run.
“These partnerships provide families with discounts and incentives to get out of the house and enjoy more Noblesville attractions,” said Bennett. “The daily special $10 admission with a receipt from a downtown Noblesville merchant the same day will continue as well.”
In addition to the partnerships with area businesses, the parks department is working with a number of Noblesville School Parent Teacher Organizations to offer discounted skate admission as a fundraising opportunity. From 5 to 9 p.m. on these nights, skaters will receive $11 rink admission and $1 per skater will be donated back to the PTO when the school is mentioned at the rink.
Currently, four PTO nights are scheduled for the next week: Promise Road Elementary PTO – Wednesday, Dec. 12; Noblesville West Middle School and North Elementary PTOs – Monday, Dec. 17; Hinkle Creek Elementary PTO – Tuesday, Dec. 18; and White River Elementary PTO – Wednesday, Dec. 19. If your school or organization is interested in participating, please contact Kristi Spehler at kspehler@noblesville.in.us.
“After talking with Santa, he has graciously agreed to add a few more dates in Noblesville and will be at the Christmas Cottage at Federal Hill Commons from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18 and Wednesday, Dec. 19 to visit with more children and families the week before Christmas,” Bennett said.
Admission rates of $10 are also available for those patrons that participate on special event and themed nights. Weekly specials with Teen Night on Wednesdays and Date and Skate Night on Thursdays begin at 5 p.m. Upcoming theme nights include the following dates starting at 6 p.m.: Dec. 14 – Holiday Hat Night sponsored by IU Health Saxony Hospital; Dec. 21 – Ugly Sweater Party; Dec. 28 – Flannel Night; Jan. 4 – Aloha Night; and Jan. 5 – Glow Night.
Ice Plaza admission is $12 and allows for unlimited skating all day. Guests may bring their own skates if they prefer, but renting skates is included in the admission fee. The temporary ice rink is open daily with the exception of closing early at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day.
