Noblesville commemorates Dr. King’s life & teachings

Noblesville observed Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a community celebration at Noblesville First United Methodist Church. (Above) Among numerous guest speakers was Noblesville High School student Ellis Tarver, who serves as president of the school’s Black Student Union. Tarvis read his letter to Dr. King, “The Dream in Which I Believe.”

 

Notable speakers at Monday’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration at Noblesville First United Methodist Church included (from left) U.S. Senator Todd Young, Marin Brooks, who gave the ‘Scripture for Justice,’ Zechariah 7:8-10; Noblesville Schools Education Foundation Executive Director Adriann Young, who took a collection for scholarships to visit Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and the keynote speaker, Karrah Herring, who serves as the Indiana Chief Equity, Inclusion and Opportunity Officer.
