Noblesville Chamber luncheon will focus on county’s economy

The Noblesville Chamber of Commerce will join with First Merchants to reflect on the state of the economy in Hamilton County at its chamber luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville. The keynote presentation will be delivered by incoming First Merchants CEO Mark Hardwick.

Current First Merchants President & CEO Michael C. Rechin announced his retirement in September and will serve until the end of the year. Mark Hardwick, the incoming CEO, currently serves as First Merchant’s executive vice president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer. Rechin will remain on the First Merchants Board of Directors and will serve as an advisor to First Merchants going forward.

The Noblesville Chamber is excited to have Hardwick speak at the Oct. 28 luncheon. “First Merchants has a consistent record of being a strong community partner, and they are certainly experts when it comes to the economy and small business,” said Chamber President & CEO Bob DuBois. “Especially during these times of economic uncertainty, businesses need to hear from experts to hear what may be on the horizon. We’re looking forward to hearing from our partners from First Merchants, and Noblesville-area businesses will definitely benefit from hearing from Mr. Hardwick.”

This luncheon will likely be the final full membership gathering of the Noblesville Chamber for the year. It will offer a virtual ticket option along with the in-person option.

“We are doing everything we can to offer our events in a way that makes the health of our local businesses our highest priority,” DuBois said. “The event space at Purgatory has the capacity for 175 people; we are only allowing registrations to fill the room to half capacity. In addition, all attendees will get their temperature taken upon arrival. We are offering a contactless express check-in. Meals are being served to tables (as opposed to a buffet line). We will have hand sanitizer stations placed around the room. Face coverings will be required except when attendees are eating, and tables are limited to five people.”

First Merchants Bank, one of the Noblesville Chamber’s Legacy Partners, is the largest financial services holding company in Central Indiana, offering commercial banking, credit card services, mortgage and trust services. The October Economic Outlook luncheon will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Tickets are $25 for chamber members and $30 for guests. Those interested may register at noblesvillechamber.com or by calling (317) 773-0086.
