The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is a non-profit organization active throughout the world that provides youth programs targeted towards character development and values-based leadership training. BSA does everything from outdoor activities to fundraisers to support their troops. Since 1910, more than 130 million young men and woman have participated in these programs across the world.

This year, Troop 0150 in Noblesville will hold its first-ever pancake breakfast to raise money for the troop’s activities and annual dues.

The troop has a total of 24 scouts that the money from the fundraisers will go towards. The scouts participate in camping, museum trips, fieldtrips and much more. Aside from all the team-building activities, scouts will also use this money towards annual dues.

Josh Murray, Cubmaster of the troop, said it can be challenging for scouts and their families to afford all the features that scouts do.

“The reason behind all the fundraisers we hold is to continue giving our scouts the opportunity to do all the exciting things that go into being a part of BSA,” Murray said.

According to Murray, this pancake breakfast has been postponed multiple times. He is hoping for a good turnout so the troop can continue raising money for their activities and dues.

“In order for us to make the [activities and dues] affordable we have fundraisers to help supplement for those dues and they typically upset the cost on most things the troop does,” Murray said.

Troop 0150 will hold the pancake breakfast at Noblesville American Legion Post 45, 1094 Conner St., at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21. Breakfast is $8 per person and children under 5 years old eat free. Come out and support these young leaders!
