Noblesville announces 2019 Federal Hill Commons events

As Federal Hill Commons approaches its third year of programming, the Noblesville Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce another action packed season with free concerts and events for all ages at the urban downtown park.

“This year’s schedule will continue to build off the momentum and excitement from our first two years at Federal Hill Commons,” said Parks Director Brandon Bennett. “Based on the community feedback we’ve received, we’re bringing more events to the park and expanding our popular events as well – in addition to the previously announced concert series.”

This year’s event season kicks off with the third annual Salsa for Salsa event on May 17 and includes free, family-friendly events throughout the summer and fall. The 2019 schedule includes:

Community Events

  • May 17 – Salsa for Salsa; 6 to 9 p.m.
  • May 21 – Public Works Palooza; 5 to 7 p.m.
  • June 26 – 38th Infantry Division Band, Indiana Army National Guard; 7 to 8:30 p.m.
  • July 7 to Aug. 25 – Noblesville Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC) Band Concerts Series; 6:30 p.m. Sundays
  • July 25-27 and Aug. 1-3 – Shakespeare in the Park presented by NCAC; 8:30 p.m.
  • 6 – National Night Out; 5 to 7 p.m.
  • 17 – Rotary BrewBQ; 4 to 8 p.m.
  • 19 – Family Halloween Party; 4 to 6 p.m.

Concert at the Commons

  • May 25 – Karen Waldrup (country) with Essex County
  • June 29 – The Dweebs (variety rock) with Ed Zlaty Rock Band
  • 24 – Hairbanger’s Ball (80s rock hairband music) with Electric Revolution
  • 31 – 16 Candles (80s music) with The Cosmic Situation

Tribute Tour

  • June 15 – Separate Ways (Journey tribute band) with Fishers School of Rock
  • July 13 – Night Train (Guns ‘N’ Roses tribute band) with Carmel School of Rock
  • 10 – Southern Accents (Tom Petty tribute band) with Lightner Shaffer Duo
  • 14 – Bobby Miller (Prince and Michael Jackson tribute band) with Groove Smash

*Concerts begin at 7 p.m.

Movies in the Park

  • 23 – “Incredibles 2”
  • 30 – “Mary Poppins Returns”
  • 6 – “How to Train Your Dragon 3”
  • 13 – “Bumblebee”
  • 20 – “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”
  • 27 – “Dumbo (2019)”

*Movies will begin at dusk.

Food Truck Fridays

The lunchtime event, presented by Hamilton County Chiropractic, is 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Fridays of the month from May through September. Each includes five to seven food trucks providing specialty meals and desserts with live acoustic music from Craig Thurston. During June and July, children activities will begin at 11:30 a.m. at First Merchants Pavilion:

  • June 28 – Comedy and Magic Show
  • July 12 – Marc Thomas and Max the Moose Show
  • July 26 – Snakes Alive with Snakehead Ed
