In the mid-1930s, the Noblesville Kiwanis Club made a film of its charitable activities in town. County historian David Heighway worked with the Library of Congress to digitize the film, which is being enhanced to make it clearer.

In the next Noblestories, Heighway will show the film and tell the backstory behind this fascinating historical record of life in Noblesville during the Great Depression. Another film of a 1944 Lion’s Club Horse Show will also be shown as part of the program.

Please join for the next Noblestories program at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24 at Logan Street Sanctuary, 1274 Logan St., Noblesville.

Noblestories is a program of the Noblesville Preservation Alliance that gives today’s residents a glimpse into Noblesville’s past. The Noblesville Preservation Alliance is partnering with Hamilton County Television to present and preserve these memories to help inform and enrich the lives of current and future residents. The event will be streamed live on Hamilton County TV and be available for viewing afterward at noblesvillepreservation.com.

This is the third in the series, which also included memories of high school in the 1960s and the Firestone plant.

Noblestories is free and open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to participate with questions and commentary.
