Hamilton Southeastern’s girls sailed to a big win over Henderson County (Ky.) Thursday in the Royals’ second game at the Paul Loggan Memorial Tournament at North Central.
Southeastern won 77-36. The Royals trailed 10-4 at the start of the game, but then blasted off on a 16-0 run. Southeastern ultimately led 23-12 after one quarter and 43-21 at halftime, outscoring Henderson County in each quarter.
“Our defense picked up after the first couple of minutes and we took them out of their comfort zone,” said Royals coach Brian Satterfield. “It was great to see contributions from all at both ends of the floor.”
Four Southeastern players scored in double figures: Maya Makalusky had 17 points, Teegan Acres scored 12, Riley Makaluksy added 11 and Kayla Stidham contributed 10 points. Kennedy Holman led the rebounds with five and also dished out five assists. Olivia Brown had four assists, and Acres made four steals.
The Royals are 15-1 and play next Thursday, Jan. 5, at Warren Central.
