Shortly before 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, the Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) responded to a residence fire in the Waterman Farms Addition.
The first units to arrive were confronted with smoke and flames coming from the garage. The occupant of the home informed the crews that everyone had safely evacuated.
Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control, limiting the fire to the garage. While one crew extinguished the fire, a second crew was able to rescue a dog and two snakes from the home.
NFD was assisted by the Noblesville Police Department, Fishers Fire Department and an off-duty Jackson Township Chief. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
NFD would like to remind everyone to take extra care when discarding smoking materials. Do not put cigarettes or hot ashes in plastic waste bins.
