Just after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) responded to a house fire off of Walnut Street near downtown Noblesville. The Hamilton County Dispatch Center received the 911 call from a neighbor who saw smoke and flames coming from the front porch. The first units to arrive were met with heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the home. Firefighters were able to make an aggressive attack and quickly bring the fire under control. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation. NFD was assisted by the Noblesville Police Department. NFD reminds everyone the new year is an excellent time to change smoke detector batteries.
