No. 4 Frankton pulls away from Huskies

Hamilton Heights gave a tough battle to Class 2A No. 4 Frankton on Tuesday before the Eagles pulled away for a 73-68 victory at the Husky Dome.
Frankton led 23-17 after the first quarter before the Huskies came back to lead 40-39 at halftime. Heights was still ahead 57-56 after three periods, but Frankton took control in the fourth.
AJ Field scored 14 points to lead the Huskies, followed by Gus Etchison, Tyler Wiltermood and Hudson Hochstedler all scoring 12 points each. Wiltermood had six rebounds. Etchison dished out eight assists, while Drayden Thomas handed out four.
Heights’ junior varsity team won 52-35. Blake Webel scored 18 points, followed by Issiac Hickok with 12 and Brent Pennington with eight. Kray Leinenger pulled six rebounds, while Cory Vonfeldt handed out six assists.
The Huskies are 9-8 and play at Westfield on Friday.
