Noblesville hit the road on Friday night for yet another big contest in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference. The biggest challenge of the night wouldn’t be their Bulldog opponents. The Millers were without the services of senior point guard Aaron Fine, who was sidelined with an illness.
Facing a double-digit deficit in the second half, Noblesville was able to mount a comeback for a big road win at Brownsburg, 61-57.
The Bulldogs took advantage of playing on their home court, taking control in the first with a 21-15 lead.
Brownsburg would widen the gap a little at halftime, edging out the Millers 13-11, going to halftime with a 34-26 cushion.
Keeping the trend in the third, the Bulldogs pushed the lead even more with a 18-13 third to lead by a baker’s dozen through three, 52-39.
Things clicked immediately for the Millers on both ends of the floor. Defensively, Noblesville held Brownsburg to just five points in the final frame and would score 22 themselves.
Down by 16 early in the fourth, the Millers were able to catch every break possible to come back for an HCC road win.
Hunter Walston led with a team-high 21 points with four rebounds and three steals. Justin Curry had 13 to go with three assists and three steals. TJ Davidson chipped in with 11. The double-digit trio also combined for 8-of-16 from three-point range.
Noblesville (18-2, 4-2 HCC) is off until Friday when it hosts Avon (11-8, 1-4 HCC) for the final game of conference play.
