Westfield’s newest restaurant and the Nickel Plate Express are teaming up this month to offer passengers a unique brewery experience.

On Dec. 29, passengers aboard the Nickel Plate Express will be treated to local brews and folk music on the Ales & Rails ride. The excursion will feature three different brews from Westfield’s Field Brewing and live acoustic stylings by Cicero artist John Gilmore. The 90-minute experience takes passengers through Atlanta, Arcadia and Cicero and over the scenic Morse Reservoir bridge. Ales & Rails rides depart from Atlanta at 1 and 4 p.m.

“Hamilton County has such a thriving craft beer scene that hosting an ale centered excursion just makes sense,” says Nickel Plate Express Communications Coordinator Dagny Zupin. “Being a fairly new organization ourselves, we’re really looking forward to working with Field Brewing. They have already established a reputation for excellent service and quality beer in a short period of time.”

Field Brewing opened in downtown Westfield this October and offers beer, dinner, brunch and coffee. Owned by husband and wife team Jackie and Greg Dikos, Field Brewing strives to provide quality food and beer in an atmosphere that encourages friends and family to communicate and enjoy time together.

Ales and Rails tickets are available online at NickelPlateExpress.com. Tickets include a ride aboard the Nickel Plate Express, three sample-sized pours, live entertainment and gourmet popcorn.
