Make room on the calendar for a night out on the train this February. Nickel Plate Express is bringing a new date option to Hamilton County in mid-February.
The non-profit will host Uncorked Express and Ales & Rails Express events on their train in honor of Valentine’s Day. The Uncorked Express is scheduled for 1 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 and will feature wines from Harmony Winery in Fishers. The event will feature live music and four wine samples from Harmony Winery during the hour and a half ride.
Ales & Rails Express rides will take off at 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17. Passengers will be treated to beer samples from Metazoa Brewing Company, a craft brewery in downtown Indianapolis whose mission is to help animals and give back to the planet. While sampling brews, guests can enjoy the musical stylings of Hamilton County musician Macy Berglund.
According to Nickel Plate Express Executive Director Deanna Holt, the Nickel Plate team is especially excited about these February events.
“One thing we have noticed on our previous Ales & Rails rides is that this event really allows people to connect with each other,” said Holt. “We see couples and groups engaged in easy conversation, just able to unplug and enjoy the music and atmosphere of the train. I think these events will provide a unique and fun atmosphere for couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We’re looking forward to showcasing more Indiana wineries and breweries during these excursions.”
Uncorked and Ales & Rails excursions will board out of downtown Atlanta. Tickets for Uncorked and Ales & Rails start at $25 and can be purchased at NickelPlateExpress.com/tickets.
