Nickel Plate Arts, in conjunction with partners throughout Downtown Noblesville, are offering unique and artistic opportunities for both families and couples to celebrate the Valentine’s season.
For couples looking for a creative Valentine’s date, Nickel Plate Arts will provide Valentine’s Date Nights on two different evenings in February. From 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 13 and 14, couples can participate in a variety of romantically-themed art stations at Nickel Plate Arts. Couples can choose to participate in one or all six stations.
The event will also feature live music and offer wine and beer from local breweries and wineries. Valentine’s Date Nights will extend to other spots in Downtown Noblesville, including Primeval Brewing, where Tenth Street Photography will set up a Valentine’s photo booth. In addition, Kiln Creations will offer Valentine’s-themed painting projects.
Nickel Plate Arts executive director Aili McGill is a firm believer that Valentine’s Date Nights help add excitement into any relationship.
“Our Date Night stations allow couples to go beyond dinner-and-a-movie and actually interact in ways that can help them explore new dimensions of each other,” said McGill. “We have overheard couples who have been married for decades turn to each other as they work on one of our art projects and exclaim, ‘I never knew that about you!’”
Families will have plenty of chances to join in on the Valentine’s fun. On Saturday, Feb. 8 and 15, families can participate in Cupid’s Art Crawls, with imaginative drop-in art activities taking place at Nickel Plate Arts, Caravan Classes, Kiln Creations, Hamilton County Artists’ Association and NobleMade.
“Families benefit from being creative together because arts projects provide new and novel outlets for expression,” explained McGill. “You can learn to communicate with each other in new ways as you play with painting, cutting, building and other creative skills.”
Throughout the month of February, Nickel Plate Arts’ Judge Stone House gallery will feature an exhibit entitled “Terms of Endearment,” which will display artwork from artists in the Nickel Plate Arts region that explores the sentiments of affection, devotion, and friendship. “Terms of Endearment” opens during Nickel Plate Arts’ February First Friday event from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. Details about all of these events can be found at nickelplatearts.org.
