Nickel Plate Arts has been named the new Regional Arts Partner for the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC), specifically for Region 7, which includes Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Johnson, and Shelby counties.
Regional Arts Partners work alongside the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) to promote and expand participation in the arts in Indiana. The partners provide broad local access to arts services and funding opportunities and provides service that include, but are not limited to, grantmaking, information, and referral.
“We look forward to serving the Central Indiana Arts Community through this Regional Arts Partnership and building even greater connections among arts organizations, artists, and the Indiana Arts Commission,” said Ailithir McGill, Executive Director of Nickel Plate Arts.

This new assignment is in response to Nickel Plate Arts’ continued leadership in cultivating the arts community in Hamilton County and nurturing relationships with artists from throughout Central Indiana. McGill also serves on the board of Arts Midwest, which connects artists to even more resources through a nine-state region.
The Indiana Arts Commission, which had previously managed Region 7 granting activities internally, is eager to grow and expand participation in the arts in Central Indiana, so they reached out for additional help in coordinating and communicating with the arts-related organizations in this region.
