The Noblesville gymnastics team had a great day at the Connersville Invitational on Saturday.
The Millers placed sixth out of eight teams with a season-high score of 92.55. In addition, Noblesville coach Jody Ramey said her team surpassed its goal of hitting the 90-point mark by the sectional meet, doing so well ahead of time.
“This was an excellent day for the team with lots of personal bests and even career-high finishes,” said Ramey.
Olivia Mangin had the highest place and score of the meet for the Millers, with an 8.75 on vault, good for eighth place.
“This was Olivia’s highest score for the season so far on vault and also a career high and a great way to prepare for sectionals in a couple of weeks,” said Ramey. “This was also our highest team score on vault for the season, and was a great vault day for the team.”
Noblesville also had a good day on the balance beam, where Devyn Palmer placed ninth with an 8.475. All three of the Millers that competed in the event had “beam sticks,” meaning no falls for the beam.
Noblesville will compete at Franklin Central on Thursday.
