Pedcor Companies, a retail and multi-family housing developer headquartered in Carmel, has launched an eCommerce site to the public that supports its local retail tenants at Carmel City Center (CCC) and the Indiana Design Center (IDC).
The site, shop.carmelcitycenter.com, was developed as a one-stop-shop featuring products from participating retail stores at both shopping centers. The eCommerce site’s original launch in 2017 was exclusive to Pedcor employees who are given employee rewards gift certificates from Pedcor to shop the site and support the merchants.
In the face of challenges related to COVID-19 and stores being mandated by the state of Indiana to close their doors to foot traffic, Pedcor and its web partner accelerated the eCommerce site’s launch to the public so retailers can generate more online sales. Without the eCommerce site, several of the locally-owned small businesses would not have an online shopping platform.
“Our goal in creating this special shoppable website is to assist the small businesses at Carmel City Center and the Indiana Design Center with their online customer reach, while thanking and rewarding our off-site employees across the country with vouchers to shop it,” said Melissa Averitt, senior vice president at Pedcor Companies. “We are proud to expand shop.carmelcitycenter.com’s accessibility to the public to further our tenants’ online sales potential.”

In 2020 alone, Pedcor awarded nearly $100,000 worth of gift certificates to 400 employees from around the country to shop the eCommerce site.

Our customers can visit us virtually to shop and support the Carmel City Center retailers in one place and enjoy curbside pickup or shipping.”
