New sculpture to be unveiled in Carmel’s Arts & Design District

Carmel city officials invite the public to a new art sculpture unveiling ceremony at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 during this month’s Allied Solutions’ Meet Me on Main event.

The new stone sculpture, designed by Zimbabwean sculptor Dominic Benhura, will be installed at the intersection of Main Street and Veterans Way in the Arts & Design District. The ceremony will take place nearby at Carmel Chocolate Café.

In addition to Benhura, Councilor Kevin “Woody” Rider, Kuaba Gallery owner Jayne During, members of the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Human Relations, the Clay Township Board, and Public Art Advisory Committee will be present.

A public reception will be held at Kuaba Gallery, 404 W. Main St., immediately following the unveiling.
