New Pendleton District Squad Sergeant named

Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter has announced the promotion of Master Trooper Ron Huff to the rank of Sergeant to serve as a District Squad Leader for the Pendleton Post. Sgt. Huff earned this promotion through written testing and a competitive interview process.

Huff

Sgt. Huff is a lifelong resident of Tipton County. He attended and graduated from Tipton High School.  He also attended IU Kokomo. In 1993, he was selected to attend and graduated from the 50th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in Plainfield, Ind. After graduation, he was assigned to the Pendleton Post working primarily in Hamilton County. In 1995 Sgt. Huff transferred to the Peru Post where he worked Cass, Howard, and Tipton counties until transferring back to the Pendleton Post in 2000. Since his return to Pendleton, Sgt. Huff has primarily worked Madison County.

He has served the department as a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon and the Methamphetamine/Clandestine Lab Team. He is also trained as a Field Training Officer and a Background Investigator.

Sgt. Huff and his wife live in Tipton County and have three adult children.
