The Noblesville Parks and Recreation Department will begin offering a variety of new programs and events this fall. Topics range from creative fun for the little ones and classes designed for active adults to concerts and theater shows at the Auditorium at the Annex, located inside the Ivy Tech Hamilton County Campus.
“As fall approaches, we are excited to offer new and seasonal programming for all ages. From families with young children with our ‘Littles’ program to our new monthly luncheons for those ages 50 and older, we encourage all residents to get out and enjoy the cooler weather or try a new class this fall,” Recreation Coordinator Kaitlyn Smith said.
Free Family Halloween Party
Bring your little ghoul or goblin out to the annual Halloween Party at Federal Hill Commons from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. Stop by the trick-or-treat village filled with local businesses offering a variety of treats and activities for your little one. This event is free to attend and is sponsored by the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs.
Little Pumpkins & Little Turkeys
Bring your little one for seasonal themed fun. Each program will celebrate the season with crafts, games, and fun activities with a fall pumpkin theme in October and turkey theme in November. Registration is required. The events are for ages 2 to 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 30 and Nov. 20 in the Forest Park Lodge Basement. Cost is $10 (resident) and $12 (non-resident).
Monthly Senior Luncheons
The events will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a themed lunch to celebrate various holidays with food, new friends and activities. The October luncheon is Thursday, Oct. 31 with a McAlister’s Deli Potato Bar and the November luncheon is on Tuesday, Nov. 19 and will include a Thanksgiving pitch-in. Cost is $12 (resident) and $14 (non-resident).
Parents Night Out
Recreation staff will keep children active and engaged while parents have a night out on the town. Parents Night Out takes place at the Forest Park Lodge Basement from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15. Cost is $10 per child and registrations are required.
Finals Week Care Package
Assemble a care package to make your college student’s day and help them study for finals. Care package includes study materials, sugar to keep their energy up, a handwritten note and shipping costs. Packages will be assembled together from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16. Cost is $35 per package and may include a new water bottle for an extra $10.
“And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie
Agatha Christie’s harrowing best-selling mystery “And Then There Were None” comes to Noblesville’s Auditorium at the Annex, Entrance No. 1 at 300 N. 17th St. Performances start Thursday, Oct. 17 and run through Saturday, Oct. 26 (there is no show on Oct. 18). Showtime is at 7 p.m., except on Oct. 20 when there is a matinee showing at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 and may be purchased at theattictheatre.com. Disclaimer: The play contains intense thematic elements and may not be suitable for young children.
An Evening with Michael Kelsey
Noblesville Parks and Recreation is excited to launch its inaugural intimate concert series, “Ones to Watch” with singer-songwriter Michael Kelsey from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at The Auditorium at the Annex. Kelsey brings a free-flowing improvisational style to the guitar that involves every inch of his instrument. His performance blends multiple musical genres and vocals along with some techno fun to create a sound all his own.
