Naomi Bechtold, a Carmel resident and member of the Democratic Party, has announced she is running for Indiana House of Representatives District 24. District 24 covers western Carmel, Zionsville and parts of Westfield, Whitestown and Lebanon.
“I have spent the last six months talking with residents, city and county leaders and other elected officials from all parties. The issues I have heard about that we need to fix will take someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and work across the aisle to resolve. It’s time for a change, and I have the passion and plan to make a difference for the people in our state.”
Bechtold’s message is simple: “I am running to provide a new voice and a new vision for the residents of District 24 and the state of Indiana.” Her plan is focused on:
- Bipartisan redistricting
- Keeping Indiana families healthy
- Continued investment in public and vocational education
- Increased voter access
- Cleaner air and water
- Alcohol and car sales on Sundays
- Mass transit for the metro-Indianapolis area
“I want people to know there is someone who actually has the energy and stamina to go the distance against the incumbent,” said Bechtold. “I am an independent thinker, a collaborator, active listener and a problem solver with the professional and personal experience required to build a balanced viewpoint in our legislature.”
Naomi Bechtold is endorsed by Better Indiana, a political action committee that supports local and state leaders and organizations that work to improve the lives and the livelihoods of all Hoosiers.

All supporters are invited to a Campaign Announcement Party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Noble Order Brewing Company, 98 S. Main St., Zionsville, IN 46077. Indianapolis City County Council Vice President Zach Adamson will attend as a guest speaker. Guests are welcome to bring additional people to the event; limited to persons 21 years or older.
