Morse Reservoir charity event hitting the water next month

Shaka SUP Racing is once again bringing paddle racing fun and competition to Morse Reservoir. Whether you are a stand up paddle boarder or kayaker, they have a course for you: Short course for the youth and beginners and distance course for experienced paddlers.

‘Sky an Oar for Guardian Angels’ is a partial-charity paddle race event for Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs with 90 percent of recipients being veterans and are given free of charge.

Morse Reservoir public beach is the venue at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26 to help support veterans and others in need of medical service dogs, while also trying a new sport or fulfilling the competitor within in the sport you love.

If you register at shakasupracing.com before Aug. 15, you will be guaranteed an event shirt and only pay $35 registration fee. If you wait until race day to register, the fee is $45 and shirts are not guaranteed.

No equipment? No problem. Local venders will be onsite to provide you everything you need.
