Missing Noblesville man found deceased in burnt vehicle

Stern

In April, this newspaper reported that Patrick Stern, 58, Noblesville, had been missing since March 2. He was last seen on the southeast side of Indianapolis.

On Tuesday evening, the Indiana State Police (ISP) released an update stating in early September detectives discovered the severely burnt 2012 Cadillac Escalade that Stern was seen driving.

According to police, inside of the vehicle were the remains of an adult male, believed to be Stern. ISP detectives are still awaiting DNA analysis results; however, they say they are confident the remains that were recovered are in fact Stern.

Currently, there is limited information available regarding this case, but it is being investigated as a homicide.
