February 1, 1941 – January 15, 2021
Miriam Childers Johnson, 79, Sheridan, was called home on January 15, 2021. She was born on February 1, 1941 in Darbyville, Ohio. Miriam is preceded in death by her parents, Sim Clarence and Mary Louella (Cloud) Childers. Miriam was a graduate of Sheridan High School, Class of 1959.
Miriam married her high school sweetheart Ronald Lee on February 18, 1961; the two of them have spent 60 years at each other’s side, and he survives her. She had an entrepreneurial spirit, and she started her own cleaning business; she cleaned houses for over 30 years.
She looked forward to her lunches with the Red Hat Society, and she also enjoyed gardening and was proud of her garden.
Miriam was a woman of faith; she was a member of Sheridan Six Points Wesleyan Church where she volunteered a lot of her time. She especially enjoyed volunteering for anything food related. She liked working in the kitchen at the church.
The one thing Miriam and Ronald did was instill their faith into their children, who will greatly miss her. She was a loving mother to Mary Kathleen (Michael) Elliott, Westfield, Daniel Lee (Marylou) Johnson of Florida, and Michael Allen (Laura) Johnson, Sheridan. She was a proud grandmother to Michelle (Matt) Martinkovic, Amy (Jared) Talbott, David Johnson and Ashley Elliott, and she was a great-grandmother to Natalie, Mason, Jack and Luke. Miriam is survived by her siblings, Janie (Paul) Hart of Ohio, Mary Louise Bigham of Ohio, Catherine (John) Little of Ohio, Thelma Baddley of Ohio, Betty Rowland of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Miriam is preceded in death by her two brothers, Kenneth and Lloyd Willie Williams.
Miriam’s services will be private. The Johnson family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Everyone is invited to sign the online guest book, leave a condolence, or share a memory at fisherfunerals.com.
Miriam was a kind and thoughtful person. She will be missed by everyone. I regret not visiting with her more often.
