The Noblesville swim team got what every team wants out of its Senior Night: A nice win.
The Millers swept Cathedral Thursday, with the Noblesville girls winning 131-53 and the boys getting a 134-44 victory. The Millers honored their 11 seniors and in a classy gesture, honored Cathedral’s 16 seniors as well.
“It’s always nice to have a night like this for them,” said Noblesville coach Rich Wolfred. He noted that the Millers’ seniors have put “four years into this program and most of them swam club” as well.
Noblesville’s girls won 10 of the 12 events. That included senior victories for Brianna McBride in the butterfly and Rachel Tat in the breaststroke. Both also swam on the first-place medley relay.
Other individual winners were Gillian Cripe (200 freestyle), Jordan Cooley (individual medley), Caitlin Marshall (50 free), Abby Harvey (100 free), Sammy Huff (500 free) and all three relays. Seniors Brooke Haflich and Sophie Carmosino were part of the first-place 400 free relay.
The Millers boys placed first in 11 events. That included double wins for Jack Wolfred in the 50 free and backstroke, and Evan Diamente in the IM and 500 free. Other victories came from Will Huff in the 200 free, Jared Newman in diving, Cameron Kramer in the butterfly and Seth Koszyk in the breaststroke. Noblesville won all three relays, with seniors Jakob Janson (medley relay) and Aaron Helms (400 free relay) a part of those wins.
The Millers finish their dual season Saturday morning with a dual meet at Brownsburg.
